Music Worship Ministry
Sing Out!!!
In Psalm 150, the Bible declares that we ought to "praise the Lord with singing, dancing, with the harp and with loud cymbals" in thanksgiving to honor, glorify, and exalt the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. The purpose of the music department is to set the atmosphere for praise, worship, and prayer. Our heart's desire is to serve by ushering people into the presence of God through songs of worship, lifting up the brokenhearted through songs of encouragement, and magnifying the Lord through songs of praise.
Colossians 3:16 (NKJV) – " Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
Notice that Paul states to teach and admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. Music could serve as a carrier signal for teachings and admonitions. In general, music can carry a message. Music is important to the Christian lifestyle because it influences us so much. Therefore, we should be diligent about what type of music we listen to.

We have to be very careful about degrading music as mere entertainment during church services. This happens many times, where the only concern about the music is that the band is "popping" or jamming. Music in church services is more than entertainment. It is a means to usher in the presence of the Lord. The same thing could happen to you at home. Use music to set the stage for the presence of God. It's not that God comes when you play music. It is more about us being more receptive and in a state of mind that makes us more sensitive to the presence of God.
After all, God is already there. We strive to bring our sacrifice of praise into the house of God and in the presence of God in genuine music worship.
